Anti Bias Tools for Mediators

Two Hour Workshop

Two dates available: Tuesday, December 16, 12-2pm or Tuesday, January 6 5:30-7:30pm

In this interactive training, participants will engage with implicit bias, especially as it arises in mediation, and examine where bias is most likely to show up in the mediation process. Participants will generate tools to examine their own biases and build a framework for minimizing bias in their own practices.

This training is designed to satisfy the requirements set by New York State Administrative Order 124/22 that mediators and neutral evaluators serving on court rosters and CDRCs receive two hours of anti-bias training every two years. This training may also count towards the six hours of continuing education training required for roster mediators and neutral evaluators.

Note: Determination of whether any workshop fulfills the requirements for mediator continuing education or anti-bias training is up to the discretion of each roster manager.
